Dry Brushing

And, an example of dry brushing, Toon. I was possibly happiest with this paint job (even if it's average by most standards). It looks better in real life as it is darker.

This model has been twice damaged in flits, so it's a bit patched up in places. One day I really need to repaint it.

  1. Gobby is pretty darn impressive. What type of fig/statue is he and how long did he take ?

  2. He was a vinyl kit from the 1990s, like my Wolverine (which I will show you soon). You had to heat the vinyl in hot water and then cut out the parts with a knife. Then you heated these parts so that you could trim them to fit perfectly. It was time-consuming but quite nice to work on, partly because it was so different.

As always, the painting was a chore, although originally it turned out quite good by my standards. Unfortunately, the arms have been broken off several times and so the purple areas are all patchwork repairs. Gobby also kept coming loose from his glider, so I had to drill a hole through the glider pegs and feet and then insert a bolt to hold it in place. Subtle it ain't but it works.
